What Went Wrong

This BIG city has been so revolting lately.. The traffic jam got even worst every day, the pictures below are no kidding at all. It's Jakarta's everyday circumstance. And it not only happened at peak hours when people go to work in the morning and back home in the evening, it also happens until almost midnight, just like several days before, I spent two hours going back home from the last event's venue where it actually only needs about 30minutes in normal condition. Driving the car in this situation when I already tired with the working stuff was really suck.

Heavy rains over the weeks cause floods and pool of water, not only in residential area.. but it also happened almost on the main streets of Jakarta city. Big street, we can name it. Man, water are everywhere and we people always try to tolerate with the situation without doing something helpful. At least we can manage ourselves not to throw waste everywhere, can't we?

A road in North Jakarta collapsed at about 100 meters span and it has caused a traffic disruption in and out the Tanjung Priok port. RE Martadinata street is a strategic road used by many people. Over the 20 years, government only maintained the surface of the street without checking the foundations as well, hence now they can easily blamed erosion as the main cause without any guilty since it is considered natural. From my side, it is considered lame.

Conflict of people among groups also made us crazy.. the clash at Ampera street, in front of South Jakarta District Court, between two rival groups has killed 3 persons anarchically in that brawl. Another clashes that were also shocking the mass media all over the country arose, to mention Tarakan ethnic clash and West lombok resident clash.

The latest news I read today was that there was this bicycle rider carried an explosive material that went off in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. The bomber himself is now still under the hospital medication because of that explosion.

And, this is much more embarrassing that the House of Representative will proceed the preparation for Indonesia House's new controversial building no matter what the public criticism had said, don't care what the people had been faced to; living like a NIGHTMARE.

I don't know what to write anymore, those all things that happened had made me totally speechless, I even didn't have any more energy to cry.. corruption, terrorism, robbery, natural disaster, poverty, people conflict, everything. You name all problems, we know what it means.

Daughter's First Love

What do you think when you see this picture?

or this?

this?

and this?

Aren't they emotionally affecting?

I always want to cry every time I found pictures that freeze a simple yet touching devotion and fondness of a man to his little girl. In the cold weather like this I really want to be with my old man.. more than anything I could ask for.

Rain and tears are the same, they said. A person who successfully made me remember my late daddy is my brother, an outstanding young man who used to be a friend of life since our early ages; I can't recall my first memories where there were no him since he is already there when I already knew how to record life scenes in mind. The one that I found completely much changing now, who is not a little boy who kept wandering around me and was despicably being so annoying anymore. I don't know why, but maybe our relationship has chop and change from time to time, yes.. now we're not toddlers. Or maybe it's just me becoming totally different now even without me noticing. The only thing that seems to never change is that I am always afraid to see you sad and get mad for failing to get what you had been expecting.. Hopefully you always know how to get what you want and we proud of you for that. Thank you for being such a big pride for our family and our only father. Bless you.

Rain and cloudy sky always discolored my little world into blue and made me draw a dear friend in my mind: Hi there, how are you today? Life must be so busy fulfilled with stuff and responsibilities in your shoulder, ya? I really regret that I can't do much to help and ease you a little.. but as you always know that God wouldn't leave us alone, therefore I hope that Allah will play His part and show His greatness in our life after we make attempts and pray asking His compassionate.. I will never surrender in hoping the best for you just like you always put a great expectation in me to be always in goodness and carry on.

2011 Yearbook

As one of the local juries for the design pitching (not that important so the whole world should know that I was one of the decision maker behind this annual architectural journal, hehe), I would attend the launching event this evening, our office invites all of our research partners from architectural firms and property developers located in Greater Jakarta region. Today's dinner session is the continuation of the city series event I attended in Yogyakarta.

This is the second journal publishing I've involved in, which means that it's already two years I worked in this company. Last year's event was only like yesterday, indeed. Oh times.

Their Camera Faces

Eid holidays were fulfilled with family gatherings and also playing with nephews and nieces. These are two pictures of my two nice nieces taken with webcam in my laptop, the first one was taken two years ago, exactly when we were preparing all the things two days before Eid for the eid gathering in my house, and the last one was taken last week when we played making DIY in my room.

I am a bit surprised (as always) about how fast time flies, look how they have grown up, the bigger sister (right side in the second picture) now is almost 9. I still could remember a night when my cousins and I had a sleepover in her mommy's house, we slept together in her room, and in the silence of midnight she suddenly cried so loud, we didn't know what happened with her so we just sent her to her parents' room. Guess why she cried, it was because she was bed-wetting. She was just one year old and I was still a teenager.

the unpredictable

Ann, the blogger of the unpredictable, a nice fellow blogger who is surprisingly a junior in my architecture school; she entered the university when I overwhelmingly happy to leave that place :p (you know what I mean when we remember the hard times we had back in college, they're disastrous! lol), gave me a blog award. How nice, thank you Ann :)

there are some rules for those who got this award. and those rules are.. (which I really need some time to manage my self to understand :D)

Iftar Evenings

Have spent some evenings in Ramadhan to break our fast together with the social community I belong to. First of all, along with Billy's 24 festivity dining on August 23 at Sundanese restaurant located in South Jakarta :) Yummy alhamdulillah. Dear my best friend I pray for you always that your life will be fulfilled with joys under His bless. Amin ya Allah..

The other evening I attended was in my dear high-school friend in East Jakarta (which is very far away from my home and I got stuck in Jakarta's traffic for more than two hours, ow no..) But really happy to meet them again since we didn't have many chances to gather together.

The last iftor I had was with my extended family members from my mother side, consisting of my aunt, cousins and their children. I enjoyed meeting them all but one thing I realized the truth of what my man friend once said about visiting malls... aaah I hate malls in Jakarta, so crowded with people.. we even hard to breath (hyperbolic I know, but this is what it has impressed me)
Anyhow, I decided to not attend some iftar invitations because I think it's more essential to be at home with my mother and not wasting valuable time of Ramadhan in the poor traffic jams. Never will.

Idul Fitri Festivity

Assalamualaikum lovelies! I really feel like it's been years of not writing anything here or even visiting your blogs because the last days of Ramadhan I was focusing on my fasting, let alone my works in the office were added more and more.
Idul Fitri Day 1, 2 and 3 were full of visiting and meeting relatives both from mother side and my late father side.

Well, after all, I can finally have some free time to sit down in front of my laptop and blogging :D

Eid Mubarak 1431 H my dear friends! :)
I am as the blue one of these three girls sending you a sincere pray that all of our endeavors during past Ramadhan will be accepted and rewarded barokah from Allah. Also hopefully He will give us all another chance to meet next Ramadhan. Amin allahumma amin.
