Between the Sea and the Hill

My officemates and I were at Bali island for the last four days, we've been arranged to hold the 2011 annual national meeting, fortunately since last year the company has opened a branch office here, so the management could consider to also let us have an outing here. :)

We were already crazily yearning for sand-walking or sun-bathing once we arrived there but the first day was fully occupied by the continuous meeting at the branch office near the famous Kuta beach. The second day, we were scheduled to visit beaches, but unfortunately.. the weather wasn't friendly at all because it was raining the whole day! The twenty of us were divided into two boats and this was one of them. We sailed to Turtle Island approximately in 20 minutes from Tanjung Benoa beach.
Done with the turtles and some other animals here, we headed to Padang-Padang beach in the south. Nothing so special with the beach if there's no sunny sunrays. :(

The third day we went to Bali Safari and Marine Park! It gave me so many new information about the animals and the variety of fish species. Conclusion: I love it here, while other colleagues thought that  it was so boring. Say HI to my reflection at the aquarium glass of Doctor Fish (Garra rufa).
And I saw camels! :)

It also has community center to perform cultural shows such as traditional dance performances, etc.
The first half of our last day was spent enjoying the fresh air of Ubud village before we headed down to souvenir shops near Kuta area. After that we then arrived at the Discovery Mall to enjoy the sunset, but again unfortunately, the cloudy sky was the only thing we could see. And, this was the senior researchers from the office, they have been my supportive mentors and funny friends for the almost two and half years. Someday when I finally lift my legs away from this company, I would definitely miss our silly conversation and daily craziness.
One of them said: "Guys, act cool! We will be featured in her blog soon we arrived in Jakarta!" lol
